Different Coaches

Poker players call them by many names and terms, like mentors, shadowers, partners, etc., but for simplicity we will refer to them as poker coaches. Some players make good use of them while others struggle because they don't use them.

There are a few reasons why someone might not use a poker coach, but there are numerous reasons why we should use one, no matter how good we are.

Using my own play as an example, when I started playing Texas holdem, I had played forms of poker for well over ten years. This led me to believe that I didn't need any poker coaches. I was sure I could figure it out on my own. Well, I did figure it out on my own, but it took me a long time and cost me a great deal of money.

Both things that I could have avoided to some degree if I hadn't been too proud to seek help. I believe that pride and stubbornness are the two biggest reasons poker players don't have poker coaches. Don't let these two things keep you from becoming a better and more profitable player.

Here are a few of the reasons you should seek poker coaches. They may know more about poker than you do, and be able to teach you different strategies and tips to improve your game. It is always easier for another person, like a poker coach, to see our flaws than it is for us to see them.

Poker is full of ups and downs. Having a couple poker coaches gives us an opportunity to discuss things with people who have already been through these same situations and understand it.

Coach or Coaches

Should I have one or more poker coaches? Whenever I have a tough poker question, I make sure to ask at least two other players their opinion, because there is usually more than one way to play a poker hand.

For this reason, I recommend having two poker coaches, because they will each have different experiences and opinions of different situations.

Poker is a game of information, both at the table and away from it. By having two poker coaches, you stand to increase your knowledge much faster and become a stronger player.
